From Burnout to Breakthrough: Restorative Physiotherapy

Writer: Danielle Del GrecoDanielle Del Greco

It can feel like everything around us is moving at a fast pace, like it is beyond our human nature. We are innately made from a spiritual creation coming into the physical world. Our bodies will always be guiding us to our wholeness. It carries the wisdom and connection that we need to feel our best and move through life from a place of authenticity, love and well-being. We can then give to ourselves what we want from others.

There really is no separation between mind and body, so when we allow space and time to reset and revitalize, our mind body and spirit will align and feel alive, empowered, connected to our wisdom and we are ready and able to flow through whatever life brings our way.

When life happens, unexpected changes, stress, emotional events, it can create a bit of a block or stagnation in our awareness or how we can navigate and find balance in our day. Our bodies nervous system will so efficiently increase our stress horomones to help with regulating these changes and we can live in a place of fight or flight - which can save the day. This is an important part of our nervous system which its purpose is to protect us and keep us from harm.

Listening to these signals will allow our minds to refocus on what we may need to shift our attention back to well being and what is already true. For example - showing gratitude, compassion and gentleness to ourselves can shift the attention back to the innate well being of rest, which in turn, brings balance back to our body. Frustration, fatigue and pain can actually strengthen and increase resilience when we are feeling imbalanced, so these symptoms and emotions are needed for building endurance and connection in our mind and body - actually quite amazing.

Healing and restoration can only happen in the rest and digest part of our nervous system. I love to provide and encourage a calm, peaceful and safe space for our mind and body to heal and rejuvenate. I love to guide individuals back into a state of balance and work at the pace that is needed.

A quiet and peaceful space awaits you, and slowing down and creating a new connection with your body is so vital and important for our overall well being. Some of the restorative treatments that I use may involve: somatic exercises or yoga therapy practices that are specific to your needs, visceral or tissue mobilization and using breathwork and visualization for a deeper release.
